The Fred Hersch Trio-Alive At The Vanguard” has been awarded the Grand Prix – Catégorie Jazz – for 2012 by the French Académie Charles Cros, which is the oldest and most prestigious institution in France giving awards to records, founded in 1947.

Go to the “Music” page and you will find 4 new videos of my trio (with John Hébert on bass and Eric McPherson on drums) shot in Muri, Switzerland from Fred’s 8-country trio tour in November 2011.
“Alone at the Vanguard” has been nominated for two 2120 Grammy Awards: for Best Jazz Instrumental Performance (for the entire CD) and for Best Jazz Instrumental Solo for the track “Work” by Thelonious Monk. These are Fred’s 4th and 5th Grammy nominations.
Grammys are telecast on February 12th.
